Mr. Bruce Vernon Fennell, Sr., age 64, of Rockmart GA, passed away Sunday evening, January 21, 2024, in a Rome, GA, hospital.
Bruce was born in Rockmart on August 18, 1959, son of the late Lloyd Vernon Fennell and Nettie Hulsey Fennell.
He had lived all his life in Rockmart and was a member of Springdale Baptist Church. Bruce was a heavy equipment operator with Thompson Grading and enjoyed tinkering with cars.
He was an avid outdoorsman who really enjoyed hunting and spending time with his dog, Rebel.
Bruce is survived by his son, Bruce Fennell, Jr.; step-daughter, Nikki Brock; sister, Pamela (David) Moore; two nieces, Amanda (Jason) Beverly, and Lauren (Dusty) Ellington; one nephew, David (Jennifer) Sollenberger, Jr. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Bruce will be held on Friday evening, January 26, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Leggett officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Springdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bruce’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Bruce’s family requests casual attire be worn by those attending, especially camo attire if possible.
