Mrs. Betty Sue Garner, age 81, of Taylorsville, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Mrs. Garner was born on June 21, 1942 in Rockmart, GA, a daughter of the late William Daniel Smith and Lillian Akins Smith.
Betty spent the greater part of her life in Polk County and worked as a beautician for many years. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Robert Garner; sister, Inez Roberson and brother, Sonny Smith.
She is survived by her three children: Rhonda Blissitt, Valerie Wright and Melanie Savieo; many grandchildren; siblings: Rachel (Jimmy) Deems, Martha Milligan, Harvey “Snook” (Linda) Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Garner will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Edwards and Brother Billy Ward officiating. Interment will follow the service at Beulahland Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Kenneth Smith, Scotty Smith, Brian Smith, Logan Deems, William “Monk” Hindman, Kipp Frady and Cody Blissitt.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
