Austin Mark McKenzie

Austin Mark McKenzie passed away suddenly on December 6th at the age of 42.

He was best known for his thoughtful heart, spontaneous decisions, sense of humor and love for tasteful food. He always offered a listening ear and a helpful hand to his friends and family.

Austin was a loved and cherished man who touched the hearts of everyone he met and never met a stranger. He held music, motor sports, cooking, fishing, and comedy close to his heart and loved sharing these experiences with others. There was never a person whom he touched that wasn’t laughing or comforted by him.

Whether that was a warm meal, a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or a corny joke to brighten your day. Everyone knew he would always help, asked or otherwise, which he constantly proved throughout his life.

Austin lived fearlessly and without regret. His spontaneous and cheerful nature always brought a smile from those around him. He will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.

Austin had a passion for cooking, fishing, music, and outdoor motorsports. He loved making others laugh and comforting them with his outstanding cooking. He was a successful technical sales professional for Fortune 500 companies.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kristin (Renee) and Rosie (Bridgette) McKenzie; father, Dennis (Sherry) McKenzie; stepfather Curtis S. (Susan) Burnside; brother, Justin (Jennifer) McKenzie; stepbrother Curtis R. (Bailey) Burnside; stepsister Jessica (Jason) Rogers; and the many friends that he made along his journey. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Lily Burnside.

A Celebration of Life for Austin will be held on Wednesday morning, December 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Austin’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
