Mrs. Allene Branton Brown, age 101, of Aragon, GA, passed away Saturday evening, August 13, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. Brown was born November 9, 1920, in White, GA, a daughter of the late Carroll Branton and Miriam Byers Branton. She moved to Aragon from Rome, GA, in 1963 and was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brown was a retired Registered Nurse from Battey State Hospital in Rome. She loved gardening and working with her flowers.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death on February 3, 1959, by her husband, Marvin Glenn Brown, whom she married September 22, 1947. Nine brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brown is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Weldon and Tannis Branton of Aragon. A host of nieces and nephews along with her Mt. Tabor Church family also survives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be Thursday afternoon, August 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Edwards, Rev. Rob Miller and Rev. Billy Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Brown’s family will receive friends at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church on Thursday from 1:00 until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Elijah Bagley, Isaiah Bagley, Titus Bagley, Bobby Briggs, Allen Kinsey, Bob Allen, and Herb Goodwin.
