The first of several youth art camps got underway after the end of the school year and gave the novice clay spinners the chance to make some out of this world pottery at the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center.
The RCAC shared these items on their Facebook page earlier in the week from their opening Pottery camp of the summer that began on Monday and ends today. The opening Pottery Camp headed up by Feliciano Abaurre and assistants for youth aged 8 to 13. Youth made space-themed items (including some aliens) during this week’s camp as sculptures.
It is one of eight camps going on this summer including a second pottery camp, the Little Hands, BIG Art camp, a Fused Glass Teen camp and Space Camp I and II.
The Aladdin Jr. performance for the first theater camp is coming up today (June 9, 2023) and the next one will be Guys and Dolls starting this month with performances scheduled for June 23 and June 24. (Camp starts on Monday, June 12.)
All the camps for youth and teens filled up their available spaces for the year.
RCAC Art Camps wrap up with Space Art Camp I and II from July 10 through July 14.
