A young child died and two more people were injured in a one-vehicle wreck in the Cedartown-area earlier this evening on Cave Spring Road near Santa Claus Mountain Road.

The Polk County Coroner’s Office confirmed the death of a 4-year-old child in the wreck. No additional details about the young victim are being released at this time.

The driver and another passenger suffered multiple injuries in the wreck that Polk County Police responded to around 4:30 p.m. They were transported by ambulance to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck.
