Polk County Police reported this afternoon they found the truck that a murder suspect fled from the scene of an early morning shooting near Rockmart, but still are unable to locate the man accused of the crime.
Active murder warrants are out for Jesse Castillo, 40, described as a Hispanic male that is 5-foot-7, weights around 195 pounds. Castillo is reported to have black hair and brown eyes.
Police are still waiting for a photo of Castillo to be made available from state officials, and as soon as they are able to release it will make it more widely available.
Castillo was reported to have fled after shooting Michael L. Griffith, 40, of 599 Clarkwood Road, Rockmart around 3:30 a.m. this morning.
Police were able to track down Castillo’s truck in the Cartersville area today, but there was no sign of the suspect following the discovery. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Those with information about Castillo’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact 911 immediately. He is believed to be armed and dangerous at this time.
