Three people were injured and transported to the hospital – one going to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for further treatment – after a wreck on Highway 278 on Monday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol and a comment here on Polk.Today.
According to the GSP, the wreck occurred when one Ford F-250 pickup traveling northbound on Wheeler Ford Road collided with another Ford F-250 pickup that was heading westbound on Highway 278.
The pickup on Wheeler Ford Road failed to yield when crossing Highway 278, and the other Ford F-250 hit on the passenger side of the other and caused it to overturn. GSP reported that both occupants in the blue F-250 coming off Wheeler Ford Road were not wearing seatbelts at the time, and “sustained serious injuries.”
Harley Long said in a comment on Monday’s report on the wreck that her boyfriend – the driver of the blue Ford F-250, a 1980 model, required stitches and was back home. His passenger was taken to Erlanger Medical Center after he suffered a skull fracture above his right eye, Long also shared. The driver of the white Ford F-250 was also injured, and transported to Redmond Regional Medical Center, per the GSP.
“Charges are pending due to the severity of the injuries,” Georgia State Patrol officials also reported.
