Justin Ray Green

A man who shot at officials that was being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was ultimately captured, according to an update from the statewide agency.

Justin Ray Green, 39, was taken into custody by the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force on Friday, May 21, days after he fled from the scene of a Acworth shootout with officers. No one was hurt during that incident on May 18.

No additional incident was reported in the arrest that followed on Friday, per the GBI update on the arrest this afternoon.

Green is being held in the Bartow County Jail with no bond on three felony counts of aggravated assault, three felony counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, receipt, possession, or transfer of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender, and possession of a firearm or knife during commission or attempt to commit certain felonies.

Per the jail’s information, Green had previously been booked on a probation violation this past December, and on a hit and run that took place in August 2020 that saw him booked on multiple charges during a chase, including a hit and run resulting in serious injury or death charge.
