The perfect combination for Halloween fun: a gaggle of children, bowls full of candy and a chopper landing close by for the first-ever E-911 Trunk or Treat held late Saturday afternoon at the County EMA/911 offices in Cedartown.
The E-911 Dispatchers even got a big get for the event: a medical helicopter was able to land just down the street next to the Department of Driver Services building so kids could take a look and briefly sit behind the controls.

Dispatchers, local law enforcement and firefighters and the chopper crew all handed out candy and gave kids a chance to see emergency vehicles decorated for Halloween. Bounce houses and food were also handed out during Saturday’s event.
E-911 Director Tandra Owens said if the event brought out a big turnout, the office would plan to hold the event again in 2025. She expected after a positive start that they would likely be planning for a Trunk-or-Treat’s return next Halloween.
