Mr. Thomas Nathaniel Hunt, age 91, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021. He was born on November 20, 1929. He was the son of the late Tom and Betty Hunt.
Mr. Hunt graduated from Cedartown High School and received a football scholarship to the University of Alabama. He left the university to join the Merchant Marines as a sailor. He loved being a sailor and traveling all over the world, but came home when his father suddenly passed away.
Tommy took over running Hunt’s Grocery Store from his father and ran that with his brother for many years until he retired. He was married to Millie Hunt for sixty five years who survives him. Tommy loved being around family and friends, sports and fishing.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife, Ruby Mildred Hunt; sons, Thomas Nathaniel Hunt, Jr. and Michael Todd Hunt; sister Geraldine Hunt and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hunt is preceded in death by his parents; son Thomas William Hunt; brothers, Ronnie Hunt and Albert Hunt.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Thomas Nathaniel Hunt will be conducted on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at two o’clock in the afternoon from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Hunt will receive family and friends on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, from one o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
In accordance with the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CDC, social distancing guidelines will be in place as well as the use of masks required for all services provided for Mr. Hunt.
