A suspect who is Wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation is believed to potentially be in the Metro Atlanta area, according to a release from the City of Cedartown.

Police are asking for the public’s help in arresting Quantavius Deshawn Murphy in a January 16 crime in North Charleston, South Carolina.

According to the FBI information, Murphy is the lead suspect in the armed robbery of an armored Garda truck at a Bank of America ATM in North Charleston on January 16. He and his associates are alleged to have emptied the truck and stole the Bank of America funds.

He’s believed to be in the Metro Atlanta area, and is suspected to be armed and holding onto a large portion of the profits of the robbery.

“Murphy and the other crew members are believed to be either members or associates of the Folk Nation gang,” the FBI information stated. That is a gang originally based out of Chicago and formed in the late 1970s, and has membership across the nation.

The FBI issued an arrest warrant for Murphy for bank larceny and conspiracy to commit bank larceny charges on the federal level.

A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.



Murphy, who also goes by “Popeye,” is a 20-year-old black male who is 6-feet tall and 165 pounds.
