Congratulations goes out to Rockmart City Clerk Stacey Smith, who was honored for her longevity with the city as an employee.

Here’s what the city posted to Facebook on Wednesday following the Tuesday night honors at the Rockmart City Council meeting.

“For #WorkingWednesday, we want to highlight Stacey Smith.

Stacey was recognized last night for her 20 years with the City of Rockmart! Wow!

Her journey at the City began in 2001 starting as an administrative assistant. After 10 years she advanced to the title Director of Community Development and after Pam Herring’s retirement, Stacey became City Clerk. When asked what she loved most about her job she said, “Being able to work with the community and being able to watch our town grow and thrive. Even during difficult times, our town bands together and continues to stay strong. We are Rockmart, the one and only, and I love it.” Stacey we are honored that you love our community the way that you do and we appreciate your loyalty and dedication to the City.

Thank you for your 20 years and we look forward to many more years of success and growth with you!”
