A congregation in Cedartown celebrated over the weekend on Sunday a special occasion: the anniversary of a new facility opening up for the faithful to use.

St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church held a procession and outdoor services in Cedartown on June 6, marking the third anniversary of the new sanctuary during an event that saw hundreds gather in worship and celebration.

The church made a move out onto Evergreen Lane took place in 2018 after the diocese purchased land and undertook construction efforts for a larger facility to accommodate the parish, which was previously located on College Street and East Avenue.

A combined bilingual mass on Sunday morning was followed by a noon celebration with food for all and a variety of games.
