Sierra Rose Salon and Nutrition celebrates ribbon cutting on Thursday

A business that opened in mid-December in downtown Rockmart finally got the chance to celebrate their opening with family, friends and local officials thanks to the Polk County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday afternoon.

Sierra Rose Salon and Nutrition technically opened for the first time on December 10, but the Chamber held a ribbon cutting for the business co-owned by Caitlyn Butler and Maddie Seals.

“We kind of just did this together,” Butler said. “She (Maddie) runs the salon, and we both make tea together as well.”

Seals previously worked at a salon in Dallas for three years, but as that business was selling she found herself an opportunity to join forces with Butler and work together as their own bosses.

“It just worked out great,” Seals added.

They serve tea, shakes and coffee along with some snacks over the counter in the “nutrition” side of the business, while Seals helps out up front while also providing clients in back with hair styling and eyelash work in the back room. They also have some third-party items for sale as well, like jewelry and other handmade crafts around the shop.

Thursday’s ribbon cutting isn’t the only attention they got this week. The Mosh Pit Podcast produced in Rockmart also featured the pair in their latest episode that dropped on Thursday as well.

Hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. They are also open on some Sundays throughout the month, and they regularly update patrons on Facebook about those opening days outside of the schedule.

“We’ll do Surprise Sundays once or twice a month,” Butler said. “For the most part, it’s 6:30 every morning except for Saturdays.”

They additionally plan to participate and be open during the upcoming WELSHFest planned for Saturday, March 18 with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

They will have the Easter Bunny on hand for the the day as well for those who want to come get photos.
