Polk County got a visit from a state official on Monday, sitting down for lunch with a Rockmart club and then stopping by the Board of Elections and Registration to say hello to local elections employees.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was in town to first speak with local Rockmart Kiwanis Club members during their lunch meeting and also talk about voter integrity during the upcoming 2022 campaigns, before he made a trip across the county to the Board of Elections office to visit with staff and local officials who are registering candidates for the 2022 primaries and general election coming up in late May and early November.
Raffensperger, who has visited the Board of Elections during a statewide tour in years past, was amid the center of controversy following the 2020 election and a phone call he had with former President Donald Trump.
The Secretary of State recently released a book, Integrity Counts, as well.
