The Rotary Club of Polk County got back to their regular business today and inducted a new member to their group for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began and forced clubs of all sizes to shut down weekly gatherings.
During their meeting, the group also inducted a new member, the Development Authority of Polk County’s April Lucas. She was joined by her husband Jonathan for the ceremony, which was conducted by North Cobb Rotarian David Schwickerath.
Though they usually meet at Polk Medical Center in the conference room, Rotarians instead gathered at Pizza Depot for the session. They’ll be hosting upcoming meetings for the end of June and heading into July.
Rotarians also discussed what to do about upcoming fundraisers after the pandemic caused the cancellation of Homespun 2020 and the Eggs and Issues breakfast they would have held ahead of the June 9 primary.
