Santa Claus had one big job for Thursday night in Rockmart, and he did that job perfectly.

As this year’s Christmas Parade themed “Small Town Christmas” reached the front of the Rockmart History Museum to conclude the annual event, St. Nick hopped down from the back of the fire engine and got right down to business of lighting the tree for 2023.

Ty Floyd headed up this year’s parade as the grand marshal, coming home for the off-season visit after he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds after a successful pitching stint in the College World Series in June with the LSU Tigers.

Rockmart also honored Recreation Champs at the front end of the parade, the 10-and-under and 12-and-under rec league champs for 2023 were Yellow Jackets who took to big trucks to celebrate.
