Rockmart Police jail woman found with drugs after wreck

Angela Marie Davis

A Rockmart woman was booked after drugs were found in her car following an early morning wreck on Monday on Jones Avenue, according to reports.

Angela Marie Davis, 47, of a Rockmart address, was booked Monday morning at the Polk County Jail on multiple drug charges when she was found with her Jeep Grand Cherokee in the ditch on Jones Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

Police noted that after helping Davis and speaking with her, listening to her “rambling about what was happening” they finally got her driver’s license and checked her information. The reporting officer also noticed the “strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle” and used that as probable cause to conduct a search.

Per the report, Polk County Police arrived on scene to assist and while one officer was searching the back of the car, came upon a pouch where they found “objects inside that had been manipulated to make a smoking device for narcotics” and a single straw that had also been used. A field test kit for methamphetamine came back positive.

After the test was completed, police took Davis into custody and asked if she wanted to say anything. She refused to speak, and after that another pill bottle was found that contained suspected cocaine. A field test yielded a positive for the drug as well.

A third pill bottle with Methocarbam within as well as cocaine residue inside the bottle that also tested positive for the drug, and another metal smoking pipe was found too.

Police towed the Jeep and transported Davis to jail. She remained in custody on a $14,000 bond on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor charges for three counts of possession and use of drug-related objects and failure to maintain lane.
