Rev. Howard Albert Moore, age 98, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday evening, April 4, 2024, at his residence.
Rev. Moore was born in Kingston, GA, on January 29, 1926, a son of the late Hugh Edward “Brooks” Moore and Mittie Jones Moore. He had lived the greater part of his life in Bartow and Polk counties.
Rev. Moore was a graduate of Shorter (College) University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He had pastored several churches in the Floyd, Gordon, and Polk County areas and in Haw River, NC.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Moore was preceded in death by three brothers, H. Eugene Moore, M. Clayton Moore, Jerry D. Moore.
Rev. Moore is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Shortt Moore, whom he married June 8, 1956; two children, Barbara Alisha Moore Cole (Mel), of Kansas City, MO, and Michael Howard Moore (Vicki) of Kingston; two grandchildren, Tyler Robert Moore and Jason Michael Moore; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Tyler Moore, Hadley Jo An Moore, and Lainey Brooks Moore.
In keeping with his wishes, Rev. Moore will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
