A woman was jailed early Friday morning to start the month of October after Rockmart Police found her asleep in her car at a gas station, then found drugs in the car the woman admitted she had, according to reports.

Misty Paige Williams, 31, of 607 Southern Trace Drive, Rockmart, was jailed on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin on Friday, October 1.

Per reports, an officer on patrol around 3 a.m. this past Friday and pulled into the BP near the intersection of Highway 278 and Highway 101 and when parking found Williams asleep in her 2010 Ford Edge with the door wide open.

Worried about Williams, police woke her up and began to question her about why she was asleep in the parking lot. Williams told officers about family issues that she was upset about, and after she was calmed down the reporting officer asked her whether she had taken any drugs.

Williams admitted to police that she had used heroin an hour before, and that there was still some in her car. At this point, Polk County Police officers arrived as backup and began searching her car.

Police found 3.2 grams of methamphetamine and less than a gram of heroin during their search, and Williams was taken into custody without further incident.

She remained in the Polk County Jail on the pair of felony drug possession charges with a $10,000 bond.
