A two-year-old who went missing from a residence on Pine Mountain Road in the area around the airport was found unharmed after a search was quickly formed by first responders.

Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd reported the boy had wandered off down the road following a dog and was reported missing by his family around 2 p.m.

No more than an hour later, the child was located and was not injured.

Dodd was appreciative of the efforts of his department and fellow agencies for their help in locating the child quickly.

Officers responded to Pine Mountain Road area this afternoon for reports of a 2 year old child that had went missing from a residence. Thankfully officers from our agency, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Volunteer Fire Department personnel as well as Cedartown Fire and Rockmart Fire responded quickly and the child was located safe.

Please remember to keep a close eye on your children as this could have ended differently if not for the quick response of all agencies involved.
