Two men remain in jail on drug charges and a third was apprehended for loitering after they were found on the porch of an abandoned house on Wednesday, per Cedartown Police reports.
Officers arrested Najawon Devonta Stallworth, 29, of 528 Fletcher St., Cedartown; Trevor Lee Williams, 28, of 432 Stringer Road, Rockmart; and Rickie Lewis Hill, 58, of 301 Central St., Cedartown, on multiple charges during an incident on Wednesday night that ended around 11 p.m.
Per the report, officers were called out when a complaint was made about drug sales being conducted off the porch of 305 Central Street in Cedartown, and when officers arrived they found Williams trying to get to his car, and Stallworth trying to get rid of drugs he had in a bag. Hill remained on the porch when officers arrived.
Stallworth saw the officers had him cornered, came back to the porch and was taken into custody. Police also stopped Williams before he could drive away, and took him into custody as well. Hill was cuffed and placed into a police car after the other two were already apprehended, per the report.
Officers then began to search the area for what Stallworth threw away, and located it under Williams’ car. Within a small backpack, they found a Sccy 9mm handgun, along with three bags of marijuana of various sizes and a digital scale. When they looked inside of Williams’ car, they immediately spotted a handgun and “what appeared to be a small rifle style firearm in the vehicle,” the report stated.
Police sought to have the car towed back to the Cedartown PD, where they could conduct a search after a K-9 unit was given the opportunity to take a sniff around the vehicle on Central Street. However, before the wrecker service arrived, officers obtained a search warrant and got to look inside before leaving it on the scene for collection at a later date.
When officers got inside, they found a Keltec P50 firearm, a stolen Glock 19 handgun, multiple pills, additional suspected marijuana and another digital scale.
Hill wasn’t found to have anything on him at the time of the arrest or after. All three were taken to the Polk County Jail without further incident.
Stallworth had warrants for his arrest. He was charged with misdemeanor and felony possession of marijuana and two counts of criminal trespass and loitering or prowling for this incident. Additional charges on the warrants included armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender, aggravated assault, theft by taking – felony, possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies and pointing or aiming gun or pistol at another. Bond was denied on the multiple charges he previously and currently faces.
Williams faces many more charges for the incident. Those include misdemeanor charges of loitering or prowling and criminal trespass, and additional felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, intoxicants, drugs without consent, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, two counts of possession of firearm by convicted felon or first offender, and theft by receiving stolen property.
