Polk County Police watched a driver “fish tail” out of a driveway and leave drag marks on the roadway before being taken to jail on traffic-related charges, according to reports.
Christopher Lee Hopkins, 42, of a Cedartown address, was pulling out of a driveway on Johnson Lake Road on Sunday night, January 5, 2025 just before 9 p.m. when an officer watched the incident go down as the pickup truck Hopkins drove pulled out “aggressively.”
Less than a minute later police caught up to him in a traffic stop, and he handed over a license that expired in October 2024. Police questioned why he hadn’t updated his license, but “he did not have any legitimate reason.”
Police took him into custody without incident and he was charged with misdemeanors for improper starting and expired or no driver’s license.
Hopkins was later released on a $2,000 bond.
