
A Temple man was denied bond after he was charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors when his car broke down on Block Ruff Road on the night of December 7 and found by Polk County Police with methamphetamine, per Polk County Police reports.
Officers arrested David Gene Ray, 41, of a Temple address,
He was booked on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute as well as possession of tools for the commission of a crime, as well as multiple misdemeanor traffic and other charges.
Those included unregistered vehicle, no insurance, driving while license suspended or revoked, no license on person and giving false name, address, or birthdate to law enforcement officers.
Ray was reported to have been found on Block Ruff Road on Thursday night just minutes before midnight with his car halfway in the roadway and off the side of the road. Polk County Police stopped with Ray, who told the first officer arriving on scene that his 2006 Honda Accord’s transmission had failed. He initially gave officers a false name and date of birth, but later during his arrest they found his real identity.
Police noted that his nervous behavior, statements that didn’t add up and the fact the officer was alone, Ray was detained.
Once taken into custody, police reported that they found drug paraphernalia, 20 grams of suspected meth, and a $100 bill of prop money.
Ray remained in custody as of this posting without bond set.
