A Cedartown area man remains in jail with a bond set after he was charged with a felony for running off with clothing earlier this month.
On August 5, Polk County Police took a report from an Olive Street woman who told officers that Stephen Dewayne Bertles, 39, who stole her work clothes from her and fled.
The clothing was valued at $238 and included a pair of pants, shoes and a uniform for a chain restaurant. (Note: Naming the restaurant would give a clue as to the victim’s identity, therefore it is not being included.)
Bertles was booked into the Polk County Jail on Monday on a felony charge of robbery – sudden snatching – and remained in custody with bond set at $8,000.
