A man was jailed for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct and was caught walking in the area with a crowbar after threatening and screaming at a couple, according to Polk County Police reports.
Shannon Lamar Hayes, 43, of 8 E. Jackson St., Rockmart, was taken into custody at 7:12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2 after officers arrived and listened to the complaints of a couple who reported the incident.
Per Police, Hayes was accused by the couple of walking onto their Old Cartersville Road property and began to threaten them, and pulled out a knife as well. When the couple began to call police, the man fled the area.
One of the victims took video of the incident and showed it to police, the report stated.
While still on the scene, Hayes returned to the area and was holding a crowbar. He was stopped, detained and ultimately booked into the Polk County Jail on the misdemeanor charges.
He was released on a $2,800 bond from the jail today.
