Report: Man found hiding in rubbish from warrant, girlfriend charged for helping

A pair from Cedartown remain in custody after warrant service ends with police finding their man, and arresting his girlfriend who is trying to hide him, per reports.

Jeffery Page, 29, of 308 S. Lewis Rd., Cedartown, and Breanna Lackey, 27, of a Cedartown address, were both taken into custody and charged after police first arrived to serve warrants against Page around 11:15 p.m.

When police arrived at the South Lewis Road address late Thursday, August 11, they thought they spotted him running past a window to hide. Officers encountered Page’s girlfriend at the door when they knocked. She acted nervously and claimed they haven’t found their man on South Lewis Road. Officers notified her that if they found Page inside, she would be charged as well.

That’s what happened police reported they found him not long after during a search of the house.

“Officers then located Page hiding in the corner of the garage in a pile of rubbish,” the report stated.

Both were taken into custody without further incident.

Page remained in jail on felony warrants and a bond drop, and his current bond was set at $15,000 after being jailed early Friday morning.

Lackey was being held as of this posting on a $5,000 bond on a felony charge of aiding or permitting another to escape lawful custody or confinement and a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of law enforcement officers.
