REPORT: Man charged with theft of pickup full of tools, copper

Ronnie Wayne Nails

A Rome man was charged with taking a truck from a Cedartown-area address, according to Polk County Police reports

The owner of the truck told officers that Ronnie Wayne Nails, 58, was staying at the residence and when they woke up on the morning of Sept. 4, they found the truck missing along with all the tools in the back, copper, and other items.

Descriptions of items inside the truck and damage to the vehicle – along with being able to provide the VIN number – were given to officers to help them identify what was inside and the Toyota Tacoma itself.

Police valued the items at $5,000.

Nails was picked up by the Polk County Sheriffs Office on the felony theft by taking warrant on Thursday morning, September 12.

He was booked into jail and remained there as of this posting with a $5,000 bond set for the charge.
