Local officials have confirmed that a man was attacked on the Silver Comet Trail today, and one of the dogs is thus far been captured by Animal Control so far.

According to Assistant County Manager Connor Hooper, the attack took place on the trail near Cornelius Road in western Polk County southwest of Cedartown off of Highway 278. Three dogs were reported to have attacked the man, and he was transported to Floyd Medical Center with an injury.

Animal Control were able to capture one of the dogs involved in the attack, and have taken it into quarantine.

Officials do ask for anyone who might know the whereabouts of the other dogs involved to immediately contact 911 with information.

No identification of the owner of the dogs has yet been made, per officials.
