A man who attacked another family member ended up in custody and was found with methamphetamine before being taken to the Polk County Jail, per police reports.
Polk County Police arrested Kim Bryant Mitchell, 56, of a Cedartown address on Saturday evening, November 16, and charged with battery and possession of methamphetamine.
Officers arrived at an Olive Street address on Saturday just after 6 p.m. and were directed by a group to the backyard, where Mitchell was found without a shirt on and “very intoxicated.”
Mitchell was unable to explain to officers what happened, but the victim and witnesses – including one who pulled Mitchell away – claimed that he attacked a relative in their bedroom following a disagreement.
The victim was struck in the eye and was held down before Mitchell was dragged off and ended up outside in the backyard.
Police ultimately took Mitchell into custody and after he was searched, officers found suspected methamphetamines in a pants pocket.
He was taken onward to the Polk County Jail where he remained on the pair of misdemeanor and felony charges on a $4,000 bond as of this posting.
