Brandon Michael Denton

The Cedartown Police arrested a man they knew had warrants out for his arrest last week and was found with methamphetamine, according to reports from last week.

Police arrested Brandon Michael Denton, 23, of 310 Benedict Loop, Cedartown, on Wednesday evening, April 28 around 7 p.m. after he was spotted by an officer riding a bicycle on West Girard Avenue. Police caught up with him at a North Main Street convenience store when they found him standing outside and quickly took him into custody to check the status of his warrants after admitting who he was.

Denton was found to have warrants, but police also found a clear plastic bag of methamphetamine they field tested, along with a glass pipe.

He remained in jail on a $16,500 bond on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor charges for possession and use of drug related objects and probation violation.

Denton had previously been arrested by Polk County Police in March with another man attempting to steal a bicycle from a Benedict Loop Road address and was chased off by the owners before being found by police in the area of Highway 27. This is the second time Denton has been found with methamphetamine during an arrest this year.
