A Cedartown man remains in custody on felony charges after Polk County Police received a complaint and found enough evidence to take him into custody on Tuesday, according to reports.
Enrique Segundo Ramirez Mendez, 51, of a Cedartown address, was booked into the Polk County Jail on Tuesday afternoon, March 12 on felony charges of sexual battery against a child under 16, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Both of the charges are felony level, and bond was not yet set for his release pending a hearing before a judge.
Polk County Police detectives said the investigation is active following a disclosure that a minor made for a molestation incident, and could not provide any further details at this time.
Ramirez Mendez was initially charged under a name he gave officers that was only partially correct. Only one set of charges are being sought against him at this time. Additional charges may follow.
