Death appears to be accidental, but Crime Lab to undertake autopsy to determine cause of death
Officials have released the name of a man who was found dead today on Wood Fall Road in what police report appears to be an accident, but are investigating further to determine a cause of death.
Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd said that Brian Perry, 82, of a Wood Fall Road address in the Antioch area, was found dead today 10:18 a.m. at his address.
Police do not believe a crime was committed is involved in the death, but Perry’s remains are being sent to the crime lab for an autopsy to determine an official cause of death.
Perry was found by his grandson this morning, police reported. He immediately then called 911 for help. Police and emergency personnel arrived on scene and found Perry deceased, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to help.
Investigators were called in because the scene appeared suspicious, Dodd explained. The GBI’s Crime Scene technicians were sought to help process the scene as a precautionary measure.
Dodd additionally said that police do not suspect foul play is involved, but have gathered up any physical evidence just in case further investigation is needed following Perry’s remains being examined by the GBI.

Polk County Police have called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate after a body was discovered under suspicious circumstances this morning.
Per police, details are being withheld for the moment as investigators get a clear picture of what happened to the individual who was found.
Their name is also not being released at this time, pending notification to all family members.
