Reminder: Fireworks rules allow for July 3, July 4 celebrations

Soon, the Fourth of July will be here and Independence Day will bring opportunity for all to celebrate the birthday of the nation with fireworks and family fun.

However, it should be remembered that you can only enjoy the evening spectacle from the privacy of your front or back yards only for two days, and only during certain times.

The City of Rockmart offered up some advice for those who want to enjoy fireworks as part of their Independence Day parties.

Here’s a posting from the city:

With the holiday weekend coming up, we wanted to remind everyone about the use of fireworks.

Per Georgia state law 25-10-2, it is legal to explode fireworks between 10:00AM and 11:59PM on July 3rd and July 4th. The state law supersedes any local noise ordinances.

We want everyone to have a fun but safe holiday weekend.

Here are some weekend tips to keep in mind while having fun but being safe with your family, friends, and pets.
