It might have started out as one of the few businesses more than a decade ago on Nathan Dean Parkway at Highway 113, but the past decade and a half in Rockmart has seen a lot of change for a gas station – and for the options available within and without.

Rockmart’s Raceway today celebrated its 15th Anniversary on Friday during a celebration featuring face painting, balloon animals and even a bounce house as owner Clint Brock, family, friends, employees and customers came together to enjoy some family-friendly fun for all ages at the station.

Since opening on May 24, 2010, much has gone up around it (restaurants aplenty, oil and lube businesses and more) and even the station itself has expanded to include diesel service for large trucks that utilize the four-lane routes at the strategic corner to get in and out of Rockmart.

Brock – who wears many hats besides gas station owner – said he was thankful for all the support that he’s had over the years from the community, and looks forward to many more as owner of Rockmart’s Raceway.

“It has been an amazing 15 years,” Brock said. “We couldn’t have done it without the community support and all our wonderful staff.”

The support isn’t one-sided. Raceway via Brock and family have sponsored multiple events and athletic-related sponsorships, including the Pump 18 donations. This gives back a portion of every sale at the pump to Rockmart High School’s athletics programs, generating thousands of dollars used by student athletes to help them get equipment, take road trips for contests, and more.

Rockmart’s Raceway offers a variety of items beside gasoline. Diesel pumps are offered for large trucks, all kinds of prepackaged snacks and beverages are inside, and even fresh-made food inside in the deli.

“We have always set a goal to offer the cleanest and friendliest store in town,” Brock said. “We also couldn’t be in that position without the hard work of our wonderful staff.”

The midday event on May 23 also provided opportunity for a lunchtime snack for those in attendance, and entry for drawings for prizes that were given away at the gas station.
