Looking for a job that also provides a positive community service? You might want to stop by the Polk County Emergency Management Agency building tomorrow morning.

Polk County’s local government is hold a Public Safety Job Fair starting at 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. offering those who want a job as a police officer, jailer or Sheriff’s deputy, 911 operator, Animal Control officer or just want to serve in the volunteer fire department a chance to sign up.



The event is taking place at the EMA building at 55 Clines Ingram Jackson Drive in Cedartown.

Anyone interested must pass through background and drug screenings for positions, and must have a valid driver’s license. Additional requirements are involved in law enforcement positions.

People willing to become volunteer firefighters also have specific requirements for service as well. Check the number above for more information, or email jbebout@polkga.org for more for those interested but unable to attend and fill out applications in person.
