
The Polk County GOP meeting coming up this Saturday morning is one that local leaders and followers of state politics will want to attend as the local party brings in the top leader in Georgia.
Georgia Republican State Party Chair David Shafer is coming to Polk County for the Saturday morning meeting, with members and guests beginning to gather for their first session at a new location on October 9.
The meeting is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. at 1605 Braswell Road, Rockmart.
Shafer will be the guest speaker for the morning event.
The state party chair has held the position since 2019, and for years served as State Senator before running for Lieutenant Governor in 2018. He served as Executive Director for the state party in the 1990s before entering office himself after winning his State Senate seat in 2002.
He was elected in May 2019 as the state party chair.
