As the new school year that starts on August 3 for PSD students is soon to get underway, one of the areas of critical need for the 2020-21 academic calendar will be masks for students to wear while in transit around campuses and on buses to and from school.
The Polk County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with several local businesses to help fill that gap by starting a cloth mask drive that begins on July 13 and is set to wrap up by August 1. The needs are for youth sized masks that can be especially worn by those children in elementary grade levels.
The Chamber has asked that donation be either a new child’s mask already purchased, one sewn personally, or making a monetary donation to purchase masks for youth. Stations have been setup at Croker’s Hardware, the Polk County Tax Commissioner’s Office, the Cedartown Welcome Center and Depot, Peach State Ford, The Perch on Marble, Silver Comet Furniture, The Clay Birch, and Rockin’ Rooster & Happy Hen.
