
A Florida woman was locked up after police clocked her going 86 mph on Highway 27 South near York Circle in a U-Haul she told officers she was driving to Kentucky in a move away from her former home.
Amanda Lynn Wireman, 44, of a Panama City Beach, Florida, address was arrested on Sunday afternoon, August 28, 2022, when she finally stopped for officers near the Cason Road exit on the Highway 27 bypass. Police clocked another truck she was following going around the same speed. They were later stopped by a Sheriff’s Deputy.
When her U-Haul vam was spotted by officers, they notes she had her leg up on the dash.
Wireman told police she was driving from Florida to Kentucky to move in with a relative, and was following another relative in the truck. She initially didn’t stop for officers because she thought they were trying to go around her.
Upon further investigation, police learned she had no relation to the other truck. They also found she wasnt licensed to drive, having been permanently revoked back in Panama City Beach.
Wireman was taken into custody without further incident and carried onward to jail, where she was being held on a $2,160 bond as of this posting.
The U-Haul was towed.
