The City of Cedartown is looking for your help in making srue that youth have a safe and fun place to play at the Bert Wood Youth and Athletic Center.
Volunteers are needed to help build playground equipment made available through the help of a Kaboom! grant and purchasing through an approved vendor, and the city is asking those who want to help – groups included – to gather on the morning of November 13 to come and help to start at 8 a.m.
The playground has been more than a year in the making, and was delayed due to lack of materials to manufacture the structure that volunteers and help from the Kaboom! vendor will provide next weekend.
Students got to vote on designs that were given to several local elementary schools earlier in the year to determine which playground structure would be picked to build at Bert Wood.

Help us build a playground!
We’re searching for individuals/businesses/churches and civic clubs interested in helping with a very important community project on November 13.
The City received a grant to provide a new playground structure for Bert Wood Park and now it’s ready to be assembled!
Let’s work together to put it together for our kids! If you are interested in helping out during our community build day, shoot an email over to Oscar Guzman at oguzman@cedartownshows.com.
Walk-up, day-of volunteering is fine if you’re not sure of your plans that day, but if you’d like a T-shirt and lunch on us, you’ll need to email us and tell us you’re on board!
The fun begins at 8 a.m. See you there!
