PCPD Facebook post following the Presidential debate gets noticed by Atlanta media

The Polk County Police Department’s Facebook page has for the past several months been a source of a smile for sometimes being able to add some humor into days that this year can go from normal to panic mode in no time.

Their Facebook post following the debate was just one example over the past months, and got some attention from Fox 5 Atlanta in on Friday, since it reminded residents not to use 911 as a place to complain about the debate.

Here’s the post from Tuesday evening:

We understand that elections and debates get heated. We also understand you may not agree with what a candidate says or stands for. However, these are not valid reasons to call 911. We kindly ask that if you’re going to scream at your tv or candidates that you’re polite and warn neighbors. Put the dog in another room as it may scare him also. Lastly, Snoopy is not eligible to be a write-in candidate either. You may now carry on with your regular scheduled Wednesday!

We love you Polk County and hope you have a good night.

Fox 5’s coverage of the post cited it all as “Some good advice.”

I would like to remind readers that if they wish to vent their vitriol over the debate, they are welcome to Submit a Letter to the Editor anytime they wish. It is much better than having to replace a flat screen after throwing something at it, or having to lock up the dog.
