The local sculptures known as ‘O Holy Night’, a life-size Nativity scene from Susan Waters formerly featured in the Rockmart Christmas Parade, will be moved to the Georgia coast to live in a permanent home by the sea.
Rockmart artist Susan Waters created the popular sculptures from paper mache, and they’ve long been an important feature of the yearly Christmas parade, as well as part of the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center and at the Cedartown Performing Arts Center.

Much of Waters’ past works were created with the city of Rockmart in mind, and the nativity scene is no different as they were such a prominent feature for Christmastime. In late 2021, the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center hosted the Nativity scene for a final time to the public for a little over a month.
The sculptures reveal the journey of the three wise men on life-size camels to the scene of the nativity, with both angels and shepherds alongside. Check out the photos below to see the artist and her assistant curator with some of her works.
‘O Holy Night’ will be permanently housed on St. Simons Island, at the Moore Methodist Museum in Epworth by the Sea. An entire crew of people met with Waters to help pack the sculptures and take them to their new home.
