King says she plans to take it “week by week” for the time being

A strong weekend of sales may have temporarily boosted the fortunes for Remix at Moore’s in Cedartown, but the owner isn’t quite on the track needed to say that she’s out of the woods from closing.

Lindsey Hutcheson King and her family run Remix at Moore’s in Cedartown, and last week put out a call on Facebook for help: either business has to pick up, or the store is going to close when all the remaining stock runs out.

The call for help was noticed, and business did pick up over the weekend. To the point where they were almost overwhelmed by the sudden influx of sales on Friday night.

“We are so thankful for the outpouring of support the community has shown over this past weekend,” King said. “We’ll be updating everyone on our status as we go forward and hope that customers continue to show their love in the weeks to come.”

Disaster struck on Saturday when they reported that their air conditioning went out in the historic downtown business.

So for now, King isn’t quite throwing in the towel, nor is she saying they are going to be able to stay open.

Remix at Moore’s for the time on a “week to week basis.”

King and family opened the store in 2020 after a remodel inside and began with candy and soda sales, and have expanded throughout the past three years and brought back soda fountain fare in 2022.

Hours at Remix at Moore’s are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Sunday, and are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday weekly.
