The work continues on Marquette Road to build up the new Pizza Farm, and owner Tommy Sanders and family are able to watch just outside of their kitchen window as the daily progress means they are taking steps closer to completion and opening more than a year after fire destroyed the longtime landmark on Knox Mountain Road.

A roof is overhead, the building is sealed, and today utility trucks and flagmen were out directing traffic around the entrance to the new building going up almost directly across from Rockmart High School.

Pizza Farm was looking at a mid-February opening for the restaurant, but no immediate announcement of a date of completion has been announced just yet.

The outside of the restaurant is farm-style for sure, with batten rough sawn siding going up on the exterior with stone around the bottom.

The facility resembles a pole barn, much-removed from the former home on Knox Mountain Road that was farmhouse-style with additions tacked on over the years.

Keep track of Pizza Farm’s progress on their Facebook Page as work continues on the new restaurant location.
