If you happened to drive the Silver Comet Trailhead on Church Street today and was wondering what the City of Rockmart’s Public Works crew was up to, well here’s the answer.

This morning, they were busy installing a new pump station for bicycles that need to air up the tires at the Silver Comet Trailhead, along with the apparatus that provides additional tools for repairs along the trail for those who have experienced a breakdown.

This replaces a pump that was previously at the Silver Comet Trailhead building for bicycle repairs. It was moved to the pad recently in front of the building to make it more accessible and security cameras were installed to help ensure it won’t be damaged again.

The facility is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
