Mrs. Mildred Leatherwood Baker, age 75, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, November 23, 2020.

Mrs. Baker was born in Haralson County, GA on April 15, 1945, a daughter of the late W.L. Leatherwood and the late Mary Ella Weaver Leatherwood. She had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. Mildred loved to fish, was a big animal lover, loved old cars, and NASCAR. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy Baker; and sister, Geneva Corn.



Survivors include her son, Kenneth Baker, Rockmart; two daughters: Tammy Young and her husband, John, Rydal, GA and Stacey Hale, Rydal, GA; four grandchildren: Ryan Young, Neal Young, London Hale, and Kaitlin Baker; two brothers: Tony Segars, Cartersville and Jerry Leatherwood, Virginia; a number of nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Bruce Coalston also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Ryan Young, Neal Young, Michael Baker, Scott Baker, John Young, and Lyndon Hale. Spencer Hendrix will serve as an honorary pallbearer.



The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Mildred Leatherwood Baker.
