Mrs. Gail Holbrooks Taffar, age 73, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. She was born on November 22, 1948 in Cedartown, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Winford and Helen Purcell Holbrooks.
Mrs. Taffar retired from First Baptist Church of Cedartown with twenty four years of service as Financial Secretary. She always believed this to be her place of service to the Lord and always said she enjoyed her job every day. Prior to that, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Johnson Printing Company.
Mrs. Taffar is survived by her husband, Fred Dobbs Taffar; daughter, Pam Taffar Lee and Michael; son, Jeffrey Fred Taffar and Susan; and grandchildren, Meghan Lee, Allison Lee, Anna Frances Taffar, and John Taffar.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Gail Holbrooks Taffar will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at two o’clock in the afternoon at First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Taffar will receive family and friends on Monday, May 17, 2021 from one o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral service hour at First Baptist Church.
In accordance with the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CDC, social distancing guidelines will be in place as well as the use of masks are requested for all services provided for Mrs. Gail Taffar.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mike Isbell, Buddy Harrison, John Kelley, Danny Bell, Travis Ragsdale, Dennis Phillips, Ted Burnley, and Ron Ray.
The family is accepting flowers; however, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Jonah Bag Ministry, 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.
