Mrs. Amanda Thompson

Mrs. Amanda Thompson, age 61, of Rockmart, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020. She was born on June 06, 1959, in Live Oak, Florida. She was the daughter of the late David Fred Usher and Reba Faye Usher.

Mrs. Thompson was a resident of Rockmart, Ga. She was of the Baptist faith and voiced her love to the Lord frequently. Amanda obtained her G.E.D. in 1999 at Coosa Valley Technical College to pursue her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant where she worked many years in Cedartown, Ga proudly as a C.N.A. Amanda was a member of the Post 12 American Legion Auxiliary since 2008. She was also a former member of the Post 12 American Legion Riders. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her family. She loved reading, bowling, board games, and going to BINGO with her sisters. Amanda donated to several charities faithfully.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her sons, David Wesley Williams and Mailon Anthony Williams; daughter, Zandra Green (Derrick); grandchildren, Brittany Blalock, John Tyler Blalock, Kaitlynn Blalock, Kristen Williams, Hannah & Savannah Williams, Anthony Williams, Alex Williams, Kiera Williams, Brison Williams, and Aaliyah Williams; and her pride and joy, her great-grandson, Zachary Lane King; sisters; Mary Sue Skinner, Kay Cornwell (Billy), Denise Owens (Keith), Jackie Gayton (Terry), Anna Jarrell (Danny); brothers: Kevin Usher (Toni), Daren Coglin; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog named Amber.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; Mailon & Odessa Hingson, David N. & Hazel Usher; and her brother, Robert James Avery.

Following her wishes Mrs. Thompson will be cremated. In accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines a private service will be held for Mrs. Thompson’s immediate family Monday June 29, 2020.
