Mr. Stephen Earl Springer, age 98 of Dallas, GA passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
Mr. Springer was born December 26, 1922 in Alliance, Ohio, son of the late Earl Ernest Springer and the late Mildred Miller Springer. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps having served during World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockmart.
He was an engineer having retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company of Rockmart. After his retirement from Goodyear, he retired from Macy’s Department Store at Town Center Mall having worked in the receiving department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Phillips Springer on October 11, 2014; and a brother, Louis Miller Springer.
Survivors include three daughters, Leigh (Mark) Caffrey of Hiram, Lynn (Rick) Korson of Rockmart and Karen Ann Robertson of Cumming; sister, Judith Ann “Judy” Springer Robinson of Florida; brother, William “Bill” Karl Springer of Apopka, Florida; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral graveside and interment services for Mr. Springer will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sunset Memory Gardens of Cartersville with his grandson, Mr. Connor Caffrey officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Brown-Wright Post #12 Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Connor Caffrey, Mark Caffrey, Ron Arp, Rick Korson and Brayden Jones.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday prior to the service from 1:30-2:00 p.m.
